FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
As we close Q3 2025, I am grateful for the progress Mandrill-Alert has made so far. This quarter, we advanced our Fashion for Safety project, celebrated the International Day of Sign Languages, and enhanced our leadership skills through sponsored courses. It has indeed been a period of learning and impact. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to exciting months ahead.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SIGN LANGUAGES
Dear Valued Guest,
At Mandrill-Alert, we celebrated this year’s Sign Language Week with great enthusiasm under the theme “No Human Rights Without Sign Language Rights.” Despite the challenges of a ghost town period, we were able to carry out several activities to commemorate the occasion.
- Advocacy Notes
Access to sign language is a human right, not a privilege.
Deaf voices deserve to be heard everywhere, always.
Inclusion begins with communication for all.
- Deaf Games
Finger Spelling Relay is a fast-paced game where Deaf participants race to finger-spell words accurately. It builds speed, confidence, and communication skills while making learning fun and inclusive.
- Preserving the moment
We captured photos and videos throughout the celebration to preserve memories and share the highlights of the day while sharing a meal.
FASHION FOR SAFETY
Project updates
Our Deaf participants continue to gain hands-on skills in fashion design and stitching, building confidence and income opportunities. We are preparing to expand training and showcase their work in upcoming events.
LUENA FOUNDATION
Kind support and donation
Mandrill-Alert was privileged to receive a generous donation from the Luena Foundation, supporting our Fashion for Safety project, which is currently training Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants in fashion design skills. This donation sponsored the purchase of industrial machines and fashion kits to facilitate learning. We are deeply grateful thank you!
BOSCH ALUMNI NETWORK
Mandrill-Alert’s founder was privileged to join a gathering of social change makers under BAN
BAN Regional Activity
This year’s program was titled Regional Dialogue for Peace, Inclusion, and Community Healing. We held two virtual sessions on July 18 and 19, followed by an in-person session from July 25 to 27, 2025, in Limbe, Cameroon. The program was organized for participants from conflict-affected countries within Sub-Saharan Africa.
PEACE SPROUT
At the BAN activity, the founder of Mandrill-Alert collaborated with Alvine to implement the Peace Sprout project. This initiative aimed to train young school-going children to become peacebuilders as they prepare for the new academic year in our war-torn region, with our slogan letting go, loving more.
HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL
power and influence for positive impact
From the beginning of time, managing people has always been a challenge, and the same is true at Mandrill-Alert. Realizing some lapses in managing beneficiaries and the wider community, our founder had the privilege of participating in a one-month online course on Power and Influence for positive Impact. This course has equipped him with valuable skills to effectively address issues related to power, how to gain it and how to use it responsibly. For our work, this is a great step forward, and we are grateful to Harvard Business School.
Up coming Activities
At Mandrill-Alert, we remain busy and committed to our mission. To see our vision become a reality someday, we stay dedicated to our activities. Our Fashion for Safety project is ongoing, and beneficiaries will soon begin presenting their works as they gradually complete the elementary stage. Advocacy for the Deaf community is also a priority, and we look forward to collaborating with like-minded organizations.
WORD OF THANKS
The third quarter of this year has been filled with surprises, unforeseen moments, and grand gestures. We are grateful to our supporters and donors for trusting in the cause we are pursuing to realize our dream as an organization committed to ensuring the safety of Deaf persons within war-torn regions of Cameroon. For all you do for us, we say thank you.
